The season kicked off on Saturday with spring like weather and lots of action for anglers.
Regulars headed for the burn end which usually attracts most of the fish over the opening few weeks. However, fish turned out to be well distributed across the reservoir and anglers picked up fish in all areas. Lures (white, black and damsel varieties), Diawl Bachs, Blobs, Buzzers and FABS all accounted for fish.
I started at the burn end then headed for the Dam and opted for a washing line rig with 2 diawl bachs and an Orange FAB on the point. This attracted lots of attention and I quickly landed 3 fish. It’s evident that there is quite a few overwintered fish that are very lively when hooked so lots of anglers were broken.
