Fishing Report 6/04/2019

Our casting instructor is offering free casting lessons this Sunday from 10am – 2pm – don’t miss the chance to polish up your technique.

The stocking over the last few weeks has included quite a few larger fish and some of these are now starting to show in the returns. The weather last week was cold with some quite heavy snow showers and the cold spell continued over the weekend. On Saturday I tried the bank at the shallow end and got lots of action with a small cats whisker fished on a midge tip line. I even managed a double hook up which proved too much as both fish managed to escape. I tried a variety of flies to see what tactics would work best and picked up fish on diawl bachs, buzzers, FABs and lures. Despite the cold, the fish are in great condition and put up a great fight.
