Loganlea Fishing Report 28/07/20

Fishing has been less busy over the holiday period with places available at weekends. The changing weather conditions have also impacted on fishing with quite a varation of tactics required at different times. Returns feature a wide range of flies (lures, dries, nymphs) and line combinations ranging from intermediate, midge tip and floating lines. Top flies have been damsels, cormorants, diawl bachs, cdc emergers and muddlers. Suggest that you ask about tactics when visiting to get an update on what’s working. On Saturday some boats were finding success using sinking lines with lures and others were finding fish on dries. The boats seemed to do better than bank anglers but the recers has been true on previous weekends. Some of the regulars had a good day on Friday using diawl bachs but the same tactic on Saturday failed to find the same success.

Some good Tiger’s have been landed in the 5lb plus category and we’re continuing to stock regularly. The fish are also well distributed now across the reservoir and it’s worth trying different spots to find fish. Please call in advance to book your place.
